EFFECTS (MIND + BODY):
Blue Blockers’ effects are emblematic of the ideal hybrid; able to elevate mood and stimulate the cerebral while simultaneously offering a notable degree of physical euphoria.
Generally speaking, Blue Blockers provides a feeling of being lifted by its euphoria providing a light, airy, head buzz which can inspire creativity even at the macrodose level of ingestion.
All the other highlights of the “cannabis high” are present complete with some ocular pressure and some minor dehydration (dry eyes and mouth).
Blue Blockers’ high reminded me very much of hash in the way it seems to leave you in the state of mind you had before ingestion.

APPEARANCE, AROMA, + TASTE:
APPEARANCE;
Blue Blockers’ buds are compact yet bulbous like Grandaddy Purple. There are some blue-green hues on the outer leaves which surround a dense grenade-shaped collection of smaller compact buds which are so dense they are almost emulsified looking. I don’t believe this due to the use of PGRs
Good For Bowls and Rolls:
Blue Blockers is quite suitable for all but note that this is densely cured bud and would definitely benefit from a good breaking down or grinding if you must sir.
AROMA;
Blue Blockers’ aroma is multi-layered with a top note of liquorish, middle accents of herbaceous lemon and berries, and a deeper base tier of hash and hops.
TASTE;
Blue Blockers is a good example of what is possible in Maryland cannabis cultivation. Strane, by my estimation, has the most consistently well cured flower roster of any other cultivator in Maryland…Blue Blockers is no exception. They really did a good job with this one. Bravo

PACKAGING:
Strane was one of the first to incorporate a ziplock for their flower. And as far as ziplocks go, Strane’s is one of the most robustly constructed and seems to preserve the flower’s level of moisture and its aroma intact.
I would still advise readers to transfer the flower to a sandwhich bag and then place that within the Strane ziplock.
A CLOSER LOOK INSIDE
Blue Blockers’ terpo-chemical profile displays what you would expect to find with most hybrids; plenty of caryophyllene, myrcene, and linalool. This time however the caryophyllene is found in its “Trans” form*. Blue Blockers’ was quite potent despite its overall terpene percentage barely clearing 2% total terpenes. Keep in mind this is for this batch only of course. Hopefully Strane’s future harvests of Blue Blockers will be more terpene enriched.

*Based on my state mandated cannabis industry cannabis training while working as a “budtender”/ “patient consultant”, the presence of Trans-Caryophyllene and Beta-Caryophyllene can be thought of as having the same effects as Beta-Caryophyllene for the intent and purpose of interpreting potential physical and psychoactive effects. This would include all of its anti -inflammatory properties which are 10 times stronger than that of other naturally occurring plants and herbs with extreme anti -inflammatory properties such as turmeric or capsaicin which is a chili pepper extract known for its analgesic prowess and often the leading ingredient in over the counter and prescription medications dedicated to reducing inflammation. This batch of Blue Blockers seems to demonstrate this remarkably well.
CONCLUSION:
Blue Blockers cannabis strain is the child of parent strains Jealousy X (the result of White OG x Legend OG). This combination provides the experiencer with an almost immediately accessible cerebral uplift followed by a more balanced “high” issuing seemingly equal amounts of light and airy cerebral energy combined with a physically soothing body buzz. Combining these “Blue” strains pushes this balance a bit more into the realm of physical euphoria;
Blue Blockers’ buds are indeed tinged in a green blue tint towards their outer layer. What lies beneath is a dense blend of dark green goodness peppered with dark red resinous pistils accompanied by an aroma and flavor highlighted with notes of hash and lemon mixed with a distinct “Hostess Blueberry Pie” aftertaste.
Individuals seeking a physically euphoric effect punctuated by a non-alerting cerebral elevation may appreciate Blue Blockers ability to check many boxes. Equally suited for appetite stimulation, pain relief, and mood elevation, Blue Blockers is a very functional strain.
THE LONG ROAD HOME (My Toke)…
Blue Blockers has to be one of the best strains I’ve had to date in Maryland. Both sides of the family tree (well all three really) seem to offer an endless supply of possible effects.
What in the Wide World of Sports prevented me from looking into Blue Blockers sooner??
Like probably many of you out there, I find some amusement with the overly contrived naming conventions in the cannabis industry. I suppose, for me anyway it can sometimes be a turn off.
If it’s not the pop culture inspired strain names like copyright evading phonetically spelled popular candy brands, or countlessly clever gelato variations, it’s some inane reference to some ill conceived generation z stab at the esoteric; re-paving a well worn highway of nostalgia with their version plastic sentimentalism (enter Pokemon Netflix Rick n Morty kush.. Not to mention the celebrity cash-in cannabis entrepreneur buying off old stock and simply re-naming with their own “Brand” spin….sort of like a washed out third tier pink boa’d pro wrestler’s idea of “Kush”.
Then there is the shameless re-branding of existing strains just to squeeze a little more money out of the public…

At some point you expect hype and disappointment as integral parts of the same…You forget to get excited…
Either way..Blue Blockers was one of these for me …I can’t really explain all the subtle and equally nonsensical “reasons” I hadn’t.
I suppose the name just didn’t speak to me and I foolishly let it inform my purchase decisions more than once. Finally, I actually did a minute of research and found it was parented by two of my favorite strains. I should of known that there was more to the story…when I found out the cross I was immediately interested…It’s funny to me at least that I ‘m still sometimes a typical brow beaten reactive consumer…squelching any chance to try new products simply because of some unrelated mostly emotionally reactive impression…I think what I DO recall is that Strane was labelling this “Blue Blockerz” with a “z”…that may have been enough to turn me away…For any of you that read this article with the improper spelling with the “z” I apologize. I have no corrected this and the fact that I posted this with that spelling shows you how ingrained it was in my brain….
RISE AND SHINE….
Blue Blockers’ name may seem to suggest its effect may feel like being taken out by NFL defensive linemen…stuck on the couch and asleep. but what it imparts is actually quite light and airy let’s say…For me, any strain created with Blueberry or Blueberry itself is quite the mood elevator…A relaxed mind runs smoother and if you have any creative notions floating around in your brain, Blue Blockers will help you express it in a very focused yet inspired fashion.
I stayed away from this strain thinking it was going to tank my energy. It did, indeed, provide some physical euphoria and easing of muscle tension; but its cerebral effect was more impactful than I predicted with this strain.
The overall euphoria (at first both cerebral then physical) evolved into a more calming or soothing effect; At the same time, it’s elevated head buzz was more prominent than I had expected and with much longer legs than I could’ve anticipated…even after finding out the cross.
I will be on the look out for a Blue Blockers batch with a more enriched terpene profile but even at just about 2% I was quite pleased. It’s difficult to go wrong with Strane. They seem to have the fewest valleys and more peaks than most other growers.
